I’ve been using lip balm for as long as I can remember. It started off with those sticky lip glosses that we were all mad about in the late ‘70s and progressed from there. From the wonderful (then) fruity flavour pots from The Body Shop – you know, the ones you stick your finger in – via twist up sticks that tasted like plastic, before eventually arriving home to Burt’s Bees. And that’s where I’ve been ever since.
I can’t talk about the various different flavours (and there are lots of them) because the only one I have ever tried is the one with peppermint and vitamin E. Once I found that one, I had no need for any other.
I don’t know how many years I’ve been using this salve now, but it’s got to be at least 10 years. I’m tempted at times to stray, but I always come back to Burt. The balm is moisturising without being sticky, it doesn’t leave my mouth feeling dry after it’s worn off and it has the most amazing fragrance from the peppermint. I don’t eat it lol, but it does sort of leave a minty taste in my mouth as well and the tingling sensation – again from the peppermint – is cooling and fresh at the same time.
It is made with beeswax, so it won’t suit everybody, but I love it. Along with my glasses and my phone, it’s the only thing I carry everywhere with me and I always have a spare one waiting in the wings. Of course whether or not I can find it is a different matter 😊
If you’ve not tried this lip balm then I would recommend giving it a go. It’s currently £4.49 from the Burt’s Bees website.
